Improved processing means fast, silent operation, better Face Detection technology which can even recognise faces in profile. Face Select & Track tracks specific subjects whilst FaceSelf-Timer automatically triggers the shutter shortly after a new face enters the frame - ideal for group shots and self portraits.

Improved Motor Detection Technology registers camera and subject movement and automatically adjusts the ISO to prevent blurring and produce sharp shots. Servo AF further reduces blur by continuously adjusting the focus on moving subjects.

i-Contrast, the feature which enhances detail in dark areas of pictures is also powered by the DIGIC 4 processor, bringing out detail in shadow without blowing out lighter areas.
